North Korea has threatened that it would launch ‘merciless’ attacks against the United States if an aircraft carrier infringes on its sovereignty or dignity.
North Korea had alarmed its neighbours with two nuclear tests and a string of missile launches since last year, said the arrival of the U.S. strike group was part of a “reckless scheme” to attack it.

Vanguard reports that the pariah nation, which has alarmed its neighbours with two nuclear tests and a string of missile launches since last year, said the arrival of the U.S. strike group was part of a “reckless scheme” to attack it.
“If they infringe on the DPRK’s sovereignty and dignity even a bit, its army will launch merciless ultra-precision strikes from ground, air, sea and underwater,” the North’s state news agency KCNA said. North Korea’s official name is the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

A U.S. Navy spokesman said the Carl Vinson was on a regular, scheduled deployment to the region during which it would take part in exercises with the forces of ally South Korea. Last week, North Korea fired four ballistic missiles into the sea off Japan in response to annual U.S.-South Korea military drills, which the North sees as preparation for war.
The murder in Malaysia last month of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un’s estranged half-brother has added to a sense of urgency to efforts to handle North Korea. U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson is due to make his first visit to South Korea on Friday.
Last week, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations said President Donald Trump’s administration was re-evaluating its North Korea strategy and “all options are on the table”.
Chinese opposition compounding regional tension, China is vehemently opposed to the deployment in South Korea of an advanced U.S. anti-missile system. The United States and South Korea say the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense anti-missile system is for defense against North Korea, but China fears its powerful radar can probe deep into its territory and compromise its security.
The United States began to deploy the system a week ago, a day after North Korea launched its latest four missile tests. South Korean and U.S. troops began the large-scale joint drills, which are billed as defensive in nature, on March 1.
The exercise last year involved about 17,000 American troops and more than 300,000 South Koreans. South Korea has said this year’s exercise would be of a similar scale. The United States has also started to deploy “Gray Eagle” attack drones to South Korea, a U.S. military spokesman said on Monday. China says the exercises do nothing to ease tension.
Last week, it called on North Korea to stop its weapons tests and for South Korea and the United States to stop their drills. A state-run Chinese newspaper said the USS Carl Vinson was taking part in a simulation of a preemptive strike against North Korea’s nuclear and missile facilities. The drills sent the North “an explicit radical threat”, to which it could not be expected to remain indifferent, the influential Global Times said. North and South Korea were “equally hysterical”, it said.
“The U.S. and South Korea often accuse China of being uncooperative, but the reality is they are uncooperative over China’s mediation,” it said, referring to complaints that China does not do enough to rein in old ally North Korea.

Paris Saint-Germain have sent a five-page letter to UEFA complaining about the refereeing of their 6-1 Champions League defeat at Barcelona last Wednesday.
The French club are unhappy with the performance of German referee Deniz Aytekin and, in particular, his decision to award Barcelona a controversial late penalty.
Aytekin pointed to the spot in the 91st minute when Luis Suarez went down after what appeared to be minimal contact from PSG defender Marquinhos.
But that was only one of eight incidents the French club pointed to being unhappy about in their letter, which includes the opinion of referees PSG consulted about the controversial decisions.
They highlighted a penalty not given for a foul on Angel di Maria by Javier Mascherano, the failure to give Neymar a red card for stamping on Marquinhos and Gerard Pique not being given a second yellow for pulling Edinson Cavani’s shirt just before half-time.
UEFA confirmed PSG’s complaint, saying: “UEFA has received a letter from PSG relating to the refereeing of their match against Barcelona. We have no further comment to make on this.”
Barcelona scored three goals in the final seven minutes to come back from 4-0 down in the first leg to win 6-5 on aggregate.
The PSG players and their families were confronted on their return to the French capital by a mob of angry fans, with the club strongly condemning the behaviour of the supporters involved.

A Lagos State High Court, Igbosere, yesterday ordered the National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) to compel Nigeria Bottling Company (NBC) Plc, manufacturers of Fanta and Sprite soft drinks, to include a written warning that the drinks should not be taken with Vitamin C.
Justice Adedayo Oyebanji gave the order while delivering judgment in a suit by a Lagos businessman, Dr. Emmanuel Fijabi Adebo, and his firm, Fijabi Adebo Holdings Ltd., against NBC and NAFDAC.
The court warned that taking Fanta and Sprite with Vitamin C is poisonous and awarded N2 million against NAFDAC for failing “to live up to expectations”.
It said NAFDAC failed Nigerians by certifying as satisfactory for human consumption, products which, in the United Kingdom (UK), failed sample test for human consumption and became poisonous in the presence of Ascorbic Acid, known as Vitamin C.
The plaintiffs urged the court to declare the NBC was negligent and breached the duty of care owed its customers and consumers in the production of Fanta and Sprite with excessive “benzoic acid and sunset” additive.
Fijabi also urged the court to direct NAFDAC to conduct routine laboratory tests of all soft drinks and allied products of the company, to guarantee their safety.
Counsel to the plaintiffs, Mr. Abiodun Onidare, in an amended statement of claim, alleged that sometime in March 2007, Fijabi Adebo Holdings purchased large quantities of Coca-Cola, Fanta Orange, Sprite, Fanta Lemon, Fanta Pineapple and Soda Water from NBC for export to the UK for retail purpose.
“In consideration of the fact that this case was filed in 2008 and has been in court for nine years, N2 million is awarded against NAFDAC. Interest shall be paid on the cost awarded at the rate of 10 per cent per annum until liquidation of the said sum,” Justice Oyebanji said.

Man United Was Unlucky – Mourinho Speaks On Fa Cup Defeat At Chelsea
Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, has claimed they were “unlucky” in their 1-0 defeat to his former club Chelsea, in a FA Cup quarter-final on Monday night.
N’Golo Kante scored the only goal in the second half, as the Blues marched into the semi-finals where they face London rivals, Tottenham Hotspur.

Tonto Dikeh, the popular Nigerian actres*s with a broken home has again accused her estranged husband, Oladunni Churchill who is also the cousin to former President Olusegun Obasanjo, of being a murderer and a 'yahoo boy' who has murdered their unborn child.
Tonto Dikeh made the accusations while reacting to her husband's allegations that she once became drunk and pointed a gun at his brother's head as well as destroying his property.
The A-list actress made this known through her Instagram page wherein she also accused Churchill of being a chronic liar.
Recall that in a video clip recently released by his hubby, a certain Ghanaian police office, Supt. Joseph Oppong, read Churchill's statement to the police claiming that Tonto Dikeh destroyed some property belong to him(Churchill) and also pointed a gun at his brother while being drunk.
But reacting, the emotionally broken actress said on Instagram: "The truth will always provoke lies. Laughing and dancing to my New song.
