Walcott calls for unity at Arsenal

Arsenal winger Theo Walcott has urged his teammates to stop fighting among themselves after they crashed out of the Champions League in the last 16 for a seventh straight season with a humbling 10-2 aggregate defeat by Bayern Munich.
Alexis Sanchez, who according to British media has had a series of rows with manager Arsene Wenger, was dropped to the bench for Saturday's 3-1 Premier League defeat at Liverpool.
His omission came after the 28-year-old Chile winger allegedly walked out of a training session and was confronted by his teammates Laurent Koscielny and Aaron Ramsey.
Wenger has said reports of a training ground incident were false but former Arsenal player Robert Pires, who trains with the first team, said Sanchez walked off after a bad tackle.
Walcott was quoted by British media on Wednesday saying: "There are certain things that happen at training grounds... You don't see it often at Arsenal.
"Things have happened. They need to stay in the dressing room and the players and staff need to sort it out. We are in it together here. We can't be fighting each other.
"I don't really want to go into it, but the stuff that has gone on did not affect our first half here (at home to Bayern Munich)."
Criticism of Wenger has grown more vociferous this week following Tuesday's 5-1 second-leg mauling by the German champions and a run of three defeats in four Premier League games that has seen the club drop outside the top four.
Wenger, who is out of contract at the end of the season, gave the strongest sign yet that he could end his 20-year reign at Arsenal when he recently said he will manage next season, but did not know if it would be "somewhere else".
"We need to take the pressure off the manager and that will happen by performances. Who knows what the manager will do?" Walcott said when asked about Wenger's future.
"Players just want to play football for this club and do well for the manager. The players are like everybody else - we don't really know what's going on."
Arsenal have the perfect chance to put their painful Champions League exit behind them as they prepare for Saturday's FA Cup quarterfinal at home to non-league Lincoln City.

Afghanistan: IS gunmen dressed as medics kill 30 at Kabul military hospital

More than 30 people have been killed after attackers dressed as doctors stormed the largest military hospital in Kabul, Afghan officials say.smoke billows from hospital

Militants armed with guns and grenades gained entry after one detonated explosives at a hospital gate and then opened fire on staff and patients.
Commandos who landed on the Sardar Daud hospital roof killed all four attackers after several hours of fighting.
The so-called Islamic State (IS) group has claimed the attack.
The Taliban has denied any involvement.
More than 50 people were also wounded, the defence ministry said.

President Ashraf Ghani said the attack at the 400-bed hospital "trampled all human values".
"In all religions, a hospital is regarded as an immune site and attacking it is attacking the whole of Afghanistan," he said.
The attack began at 09:00 local time (04:30 GMT). One hospital staff member who was able to get out saw an attacker "wearing a white coat holding a Kalashnikov and opening fire on everyone, including the guards, patients and doctors".

One employee wrote on Facebook: "Attackers are inside the hospital. Pray for us."

The hospital attack marks a change in approach by so-called Islamic State fighters in Afghanistan - it's the first time they have engaged directly with security forces in the capital.
Previously they have targeted civilian gatherings, mainly of Shia Muslims, as well as causing carnage at the Supreme Court last month.
But at the hospital they used an approach more commonly associated with the Taliban - blowing the gates open to allow gunmen to enter. This suggests they now have the resources and the military training to expand their attacks.
If that's the case, the security forces could face more such assaults in the coming months.
In the two years since it announced its presence in Afghanistan, IS has mainly engaged with Afghan forces - and more powerful, rival Taliban fighters - in the east, near the Pakistan border. It has failed so far to widen its base in the country - one reason, observers suggest, it may now be mounting more headline-grabbing attacks.
The government claims it has rooted out IS militants from a number of bases in the east - but has yet to dislodge them from mountainous areas they control.

TV pictures showed people hiding from the gunmen on ledges outside windows on upper floors of the building.
More than six hours after the attack began, interior ministry spokesman Sediq Sediqqi  tweeted that special forces had ended their operation and all the attackers were dead.map
IS announced it was moving into Afghanistan and Pakistan when it declared its so-called Khorasan Province in 2015 and has since carried out a number of attacks.
In July 2016, a suicide bomb attack on a rally in Kabul killed about 80 people.patients are loaded into ambulances

Three months later, two similar attacks during the religious festival of Ashura claimed about 30 lives and in November 2016 an attack at a mosque in Kabul killed more than 30.
IS also claimed a suicide attack at Kabul's Supreme Court last month that killed 22 people and has stepped up activity in both Afghanistan and Pakistan.
The Taliban has also been carrying out attacks, killing 16 people in Kabul in suicide attacks a week ago, after beginning its Spring offensive early.

Naomi Campbell Addresses Rihanna Feud Rumors: "Everything's Fine"

One dedicated fan noticed Naomi Campbell and Rihannaunfollowed each other on social media, so when Campbell appeared on Watch What Happens Live Tuesday night, the observer decided to get the scoop to see if there was a feud between the two celebrities by asking the Star actress about it.
"Everything's fine," Campbell said after hesitating. "Of course it's fine."

But host Andy Cohen seemed skeptical. "I'm an actress now, Andy," she quipped

When push came to shove, Campbell explained that she tries not to get embroiled in drama with anyone. "I don't have beef," Campbell declared. "I don't have beef especially with black women who I think are powerful and there, and we're all doing the same thing—doing the same struggle."
A feud between Campbell and Rihanna does seem surprising given the fact that in 2015 the supermodel allegedly got into a brawl withCara Delevingne over how she treated RiRi. "Naomi accused Cara of 'disrespecting' Rihanna and started yelling, before Naomi pushed Cara, who pushed back," a source claimed to Page Six. Another witness alleged, "Cara pulled Naomi's weave, but it didn't come off."
The alleged altercation took place during Garage Magazine's event at Castel Sunday night. Both models later denied any of the events occurred via Twitter."Don't know where this story has come from about @Caradelevingne and I fighting! It is completely untrue, ignore the rumours XN," Campbell tweeted. Delevingne retweeted the statement and backed Campbell's denial, tweeting, "@NaomiCampbell people love to make a drama out of nothing."

Breaking: Plans To Smuggle Buhari Into Nigeria Before Abuja Airport Closure

A report has revealed that there are plans to bring President Muhammadu Buhari’s back to Aso Rock in Abuja before the eight-week closure of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in the Federal Capital Territory if possible.

The reports claim that aides to President Buhari  to bring him back before the eight week closure of Abuja airports.
Sahara Reporters quotes a source close to the presidency as saying: “Some of Mr. President’s associates ar“It doesn’t make sense for Mr. President to return to Abuja immediately just to serve the political interests of some people when his doctors want him to go through all his treatment,” the source said.
The report quoted more sources as saying that President Buhari’s inner circle, led by his cousin, Mamman Daura, and his personal assistant, Tunde Sabiu were behind the decision not to disclose the nature of the president’s ailments to the Nigerian public.
The same group reportedly turned his wife Aisha to an outsider in favour of Halima, who is the only one out of all Buhari’s immediate family that is allowed unfettered access to Buhari, the report claims.e mounting pressure on him to return to Abuja as soon as possible, and especially before the [Abuja] airport is temporarily closed.”
According to another source, even if the president returns now, he would have to jet out for another medical holiday in a few months to continue his treatment.

Big Match Feature: Barca v PSG

Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona meet for a third knockout contest in five seasons, with the French club looking to come out on top this time after defeat in the previous two.
Paris produced an exceptional display to win 4-0 at the Parc des Princes on 14 February, Ángel Di María scoring twice and Julian Draxler and Edinson Cavani once each to leave Barcelona needing to make Champions League history to prolong their nine-year run of reaching the quarterfinals.
Only three clubs have managed to retrieve a four-goal first-leg deficit in Uefa competition. VfL Borussia Mönchengladbach beat Real Madrid CF 5-1 at home in the 1985/86 UEFA Cup third round, only to lose the return 4-0
Leixões SC (against FC La Chaux-de-Fonds, 1961/62 European Cup Winners' Cup first round) and FK Partizan (Queens Park Rangers FC, 1984/85 UEFA Cup second round) overturned 6-2 away losses with 5-0 and 4-0 home victories respectively.
Deportivo La Coruña hold the record for the biggest first-leg arrears overcome in the UEFA Champions League era, recovering from a 4-1 home loss to AC Milan with a 4-0 home win in the 2003/04 quarterfinals.

Bayern look to raise game after Arsenal win

Bayern Munich may well have dumped Arsenal out of the Champions League, but the German club admitted they were off the pace for part of Wednesday's clash and will need to raise their game to stand a realistic chance of lifting the trophy.
The Bundesliga champions were trailing 1-0 in the round of 16 return tie at the Emirates when Arsenal captain Laurent Koscielny was sent off.
They then equalised with a Robert Lewandowski penalty early in the second half before firing in four more goals to complete a 10-2 aggregate drubbing.
"We were sluggish up until the penalty (Koscielny red card) and our equaliser," said Bayern defender Mats Hummels. "We were basically in maintenance mode. You had the feeling we were not 100 percent there. That was not good."The Bavarians are eyeing a repeat of their treble-winning 2013 season and Wednesday's victory delivered an ominous warning to their rivals.
Despite their sixth straight last eight appearance, however, club CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge also urged the players to remain grounded.
"We would be well advised not to crown ourselves Champions League favourites," Rummenigge said. "We were close to letting in a second goal. We have merely advanced to the last eight..."
"We should not be dreaming but instead remain calm and see who we will face in the quarterfinals," he said. "...This should be a lesson for us to remain concentrated and focused. The Champions League does not forgive any weak matches or weak halves."
But after a run of narrow wins in the league, Carlo Ancelotti's team could be starting to peak at just the right time.
On top of the 10 goals against Arsenal, Bayern have added 11 in their last two league games and three in a German Cup win over Schalke 04 last week.
"It is difficult to stay focused when you are 5-1 ahead," said coach Ancelotti. "We should have controlled the game better than we did."
